U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley on Wednesday, Nov. 4, barred Kalshi Inc. and KalshiEX from offering sports contracts on the plaintiff tribes’ Indian lands, limiting the injunction to those territories rather than California statewide. The order covers any sports contracts, not only the 14 examples it names: baseball, tennis, pickleball, soccer, basketball, football, golf, chess, esports, hockey, motorsports, boxing, wrestling and Ultimate Fighting Championship events. Kalshi said it had taken geofencing measures that should prevent people on the lands from trading. The tribes cited an alleged trade from the Blue Lake Rancheria to question whether those controls worked; Kalshi disputed the trade’s timing and details. The order gives the plaintiff tribes until Friday, Nov. 13, to provide boundary maps.
