A trader with $21.78 million in year-to-date gains expanded an Ether (ETH) short to 30,000 ETH, a position valued at $66.87 million. The short had an average entry price of $2,283.23 and showed more than $1.587 million in unrealized profit. That gain remained tied to the open position rather than locked in through a close. The trader closed long positions in 1,000 Bitcoin (BTC) and 10,000 Ether on Oct. 30, realizing more than $20.553 million. The trader then opened a short position in 13,000 ETH before expanding it six days later to 30,000 ETH. The expanded short carried 20x leverage. Its unrealized profit was separate from the more than $20.553 million realized when the trader closed the earlier long positions.
