USD/KRW closed 13.2 won lower at 1,331.4, its lowest level this year and 14.4% below the annual high of 1,555.8. The won strengthened as USD/KRW ended 13.2 won below the previous session at 1,331.4, marking a year-to-date low. In Seoul trading on Oct. 16, USD/KRW closed at 1,331.4 at 3:30 p.m., down 13.2 won from the previous close. The pair opened at 1,340.0, 4.6 won below the prior close. The exchange rate now sits at the bottom of this year's range of 1,331.4 to 1,555.8. It is 135.4 won lower than the 1,466.8 recorded three months earlier on July 23. The won has also strengthened from a year earlier. Converting 1 million won into dollars at the Oct. 16, 2025 rate of 1,417.9 would have yielded about $705.27.
