Ledger to ship fix for tampered wallets until 2027, costing $849

Ledger has responded to an incident where hardware implants drained approximately $86 million from its customers by unveiling a new device that’ll cost $849. The device will not be released until at least summer 2027. The device will be called Atom, unveiled by the French manufacturer at its Op3n event in Paris on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The company stated Atom will have strict anti-tampering measures in place, if not its strictest. The announcement comes on the heels of Ledger’s delayed flagship launch, arriving more than 12 months behind schedule. This makes next year’s release date seem unlikely. A two-year delay from a manufacturer with a late-delivery record Ledger does not have a stellar record when it comes to keeping to its timelines.
