Ledger Brings Android Apps to Atom With Separate Crypto Signing

Image: TokenPost

Ledger introduced Atom on Oct. 15, pairing Android app access with a hardware-isolated signing mode that keeps crypto approvals separate from the device’s everyday software. Atom will use mobile data but will not support ordinary cellular calls or SMS. Voice and video calls can run through third-party apps over that connection. In Secure Mode, a separate chip running Ledger OS takes control of the screen for sensitive actions. Hardware isolates the screen and touch controls from Android during approvals, and a physical switch can cut power to the camera and microphone. Ledger plans to preload Solana Mobile’s Seeker app and integrate OpenClaw for AI-agent use. App availability will depend on certifications and licenses, with details to be confirmed before shipping.
