Grayscale has reported that Ethereum currently dominates the stablecoin and tokenized asset landscape, with nearly $140 billion in stablecoins issued on its network, accounting for about half of the total market. The digital asset manager described Ethereum as a central infrastructure layer for decentralized finance, noting its broad adoption by developers and institutions. According to Grayscale, Ethereum’s position as a leading smart contract platform is underscored by the sheer volume of stablecoins circulating on its blockchain. These stablecoins, which are typically pegged to currencies such as the US dollar, enable users to transact and store value with minimal price volatility relative to traditional cryptocurrencies. Alongside its dominance in stablecoins, Ethereum hosts around 40% of all tokenized assets—more than double the share of its nearest competitor.
