Image: Unchained

JPMorgan Asset Management has attached a return range to bitcoin for the first time, projecting a base case of 10% a year for BTC over the next decade while concluding that the asset still has no settled place in a balanced portfolio. The projection sits in the firm’s 2027 Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions , the 31st edition of an annual report that sets return expectations for more than 200 assets over a 10- to 15-year horizon, using data as of Sept. 30, 2026. Besides the base case, the report gives bitcoin a bear case of -11.2% and a bull case of 16.6% , both annualized. Get Unchained’s crypto news in your inbox with the free Unchained Daily newsletter .
