Solana Foundation President Lily Liu said organizers postponed the Shanghai gathering after registrations climbed fourfold overnight, pushing sign-ups above the attendance cap filed with local authorities. Liu linked the increase to publicity and said organizers delayed the event to meet local requirements. Shanghai had been scheduled to open the Solana Accelerate China tour. The itinerary listed Hangzhou for Oct. 17 ET (Oct. 18 UTC), Shenzhen for Oct. 19 ET (Oct. 20 UTC) and Beijing for Oct. 21 ET (Oct. 22 UTC). The Shanghai agenda included sessions on AI agents, robotics, physical AI, stablecoins and payments, and developer communities. Solana executives promoted a Shanghai office earlier this week. The event schedule and agenda listed Shanghai as the tour’s opening stop. Simon Yoon reports on blockchain technology for TokenPost.
