Circle has expanded its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) infrastructure to support issuer-operated ERC-20 tokens on Arc, allowing developers to move assets between supported blockchains without relying on separate bridges or wrapped copies. Circle has outlined how developers can use CCTP on Arc to move issuer operated ERC-20 tokens between supported blockchains without relying on wrapped copies or separate bridges. Crosschain transfers use a burn and mint process, with Circle's Iris service verifying transactions before the corresponding tokens are minted on the destination network. Token issuers retain control over administrative permissions, transfer limits and maximum transaction amounts when configuring their assets across supported chains.
