Cardano Wine Traceability Program Covers More Than 100,000 Georgian Bottles

A Georgian wine program covered more than 100,000 bottles from over 30 wineries as of Aug. 19, 2026, using Cardano to help buyers check digital provenance records. The Cardano Foundation announced its partnership with Georgia’s National Wine Agency, the Bolnisi Winemakers Association and Scantrust in 2022. The original pilot plan covered up to 100,000 bottles made from grapes harvested that autumn and wine bottled in spring 2023. The reported count exceeds that planned limit, though it does not establish how many bottles the pilot ultimately included. A QR code on a bottle opens a Scantrust page with information about the wine’s origin and production. The underlying supply-chain data is stored off-chain. Signatures and hashes tied to that data appear in Cardano transaction metadata, allowing the submitted record to be checked.
