Image: TokenPost

MoonPay and Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s Upbit exchange, have agreed to explore stablecoin payments and corporate treasury applications as Dunamu expands its digital-asset infrastructure beyond trading. The companies plan to examine stablecoin use in cross-border payments and fund transfers. They will also study whether digital-asset infrastructure can support corporate finance and treasury management. The announcement did not include a payment-service launch. MoonPay and Dunamu will explore linking MoonPay’s services and global network with GIWA, Dunamu’s Ethereum layer-2 network. The work is intended to widen overseas access to GIWA-based services and digital assets. The companies have not announced that the networks are connected. Dunamu has previously outlined plans to build on-chain financial infrastructure for financial firms as it expands beyond its exchange business.
