KalshiEX LLC filed a proposed West Texas Intermediate (WTI) perpetual contract with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Oct. 20, putting a 100-barrel oil-linked product under regulatory review. Identified as WTIPERP, the contract would settle in cash, have no fixed expiration and require no physical delivery. Each contract would represent 100 barrels. A funding mechanism would keep the contract’s price aligned with a WTI futures reference. That reference is based on a constant one-month maturity. Kalshi proposes trading from 6 p.m. ET Sunday through 5 p.m. ET Friday. Kalshi intends to list the contract shortly after CFTC approval. The CFTC lists the proposal as “Approval Pending (45),” indicating an initial review period that may be extended.
