DeepSeek is selling search and fetch access to agents at $0.75 per 1,000 requests. Every established competitor charges at least $5. On October 17, the company launched its Search and Fetch APIs alongside the release of DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017 , a Pareto improvement over the previous Flash checkpoint that claims a 77.0 score on the DeepSWE v1.1 benchmark — ahead of Claude Opus 5 at 74.0. The model release is the signal the industry expects. The pricing on the tooling layer is the part that restructures the cost of building agents. According to DeepSeek’s pricing page , each endpoint — Search and Fetch — costs $0.75 per 1,000 successful requests. Failed requests, empty results, and timeouts are not billed.
