Bitcoin fell with U.S. technology shares Thursday as investors shifted toward Treasurys, pushing the 10-year yield below 5% in a risk-off move rather than a clear sign of easing inflation. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index plunged 6.7%, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 2.6% to 26,008.86, its weakest daily performance since June 5. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.02%, and the Russell 2000 rose 0.11%, leaving the decline concentrated in technology shares. Bitcoin (BTC) slid from about $84,400 early Thursday to roughly $81,200 Friday. Gold fell 2.88% to around $4,021, and silver lost 5.87% Thursday. The 10-year Treasury yield fell 17 basis points, or 0.17 percentage point, to 4.96% from 5.13%.
