Meritz Securities and Canton Foundation to Study Tokenization of Korean Assets

Image: TokenPost

Meritz Securities and the Canton Foundation plan to examine how South Korean financial assets could be tokenized and whether Canton Network can support institutional capital-market activity, opening a review that also includes cross-border use cases. Meritz held the signing ceremony at its Seoul headquarters in early October. The parties will consider tokenization within applicable South Korean regulations, assess Canton’s privacy-enabled infrastructure for the domestic capital market and potentially engage other Canton Network participants. The domestic review combines two questions: how Korean financial assets could be tokenized and how Canton’s infrastructure might serve institutional markets. The agreement describes an assessment, with no announced service or deployment. The proposed cross-border work has separate areas of focus. One is tokenization of sovereign-grade debt with global institutional partners.
