Gold traded near $4,000 per ounce on Tuesday, October 27, pressured by a stronger US dollar and elevated Treasury yields ahead of a Federal Reserve policy meeting. The spot price of gold was last down 0.4% at about $4,000.52, while December futures dropped 0.6% to $4,014.40, Reuters reported. Goldman Sachs, a major US investment bank, adjusted its gold price target following the Federal Reserve’s September rate hike. Analyst Lina Thomas lowered the bank’s end-2026 fair-value estimate to $4,650, down from $4,900, while maintaining a more optimistic projection of $5,400 for the end of 2027.
