Disney Offers Jobs to Most Character.AI Workers as Part of Bankruptcy Bid

Image: TokenPost

Disney has agreed to offer jobs to most of Character.AI’s workforce alongside its $20 million bid for selected assets in the startup’s bankruptcy sale. The agreement covers offers to at least 60 employees, with estimated annual compensation of $60 million. Most employees who received offers have accepted them. Disney’s $20 million bid is a stalking-horse bid, setting a starting point for the sale while allowing another buyer to submit a higher offer. It covers a permanent, nonexclusive license to selected intellectual property and other assets, rather than the entire platform. John Kim reports on the digital-asset business for TokenPost.
