Conditional Markets Span DAO Governance and Event-Linked Asset Pricing

Image: TokenPost

Decision markets are being used to govern choices involving $50.5 million in DAO treasury assets across 22 organizations, while event-linked impact markets remain largely in beta or testnet. The $50.5 million total covers stablecoins, DAO tokens, liquidity-provider positions and other treasury holdings. It is not trading volume or cash available to trade. MetaDAO’s decision-market universe covered 21 of the 22 DAOs and represented 78% of the total assets. Stablecoins accounted for $35.8 million, of which MetaDAO represented 82%. Decision markets and impact markets use conditional pricing for different purposes. In a decision market, prices can help select a binding organizational choice. An impact market instead prices an asset within a scenario defined by an event, aiming to capture more than the probability that the event occurs.
