Image: NewsBTC

TL;DR: CME reported record third-quarter revenue of about $1.74 billion on October 21. The results provide a fresh look at a major crypto-derivatives operator, but they do not separately identify crypto revenue or its contribution to the increase. CME Group’s third-quarter revenue rose approximately 13% from a year earlier, as the exchange operator reported a record Q3 for revenue and average daily trading volume. The company’s October 21 earnings release shows revenue of $1.7373 billion, compared with $1.5376 billion a year earlier. Average daily volume was approximately 29.4 million contracts, while market-data revenue reached $243 million. Those are company-wide figures. They span CME’s markets and should not be presented as measurements of cryptocurrency trading alone.
