Palihapitiya Outlines Hypothetical AI Attack on Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin Wallet

Chamath Palihapitiya described a hypothetical AI-enabled cryptographic attack on Satoshi Nakamoto’s wallet as a scenario in which Bitcoin (BTC) could eventually “get hacked” and “go to zero.” In the scenario, an attacker would drain the wallet and short Bitcoin, Palihapitiya said. His remarks described a hypothetical attack, not an identified breach. Separately, Palihapitiya argued that leaks revealing crypto ownership could create security risks and limit the pool of potential Bitcoin buyers. At a zero price, holders’ coins would have no market value. The network might continue only if miners and other participants chose to keep it running, a zero-price outcome for Bitcoin .
