Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has introduced EIP-8288, a new proposal aiming to streamline complex cryptographic computations by shifting them away from the core Ethereum network. Under this plan, users would complete intensive calculations on their personal devices, such as smartphones or computers, and then submit concise proofs to the Ethereum network to confirm the accuracy of their results. This approach is designed to reduce the amount of information the network must process while giving developers flexibility to implement various cryptographic systems more easily. Buterin has expressed that Ethereum should not be responsible for repeating every calculation or handling all raw information directly. Instead, the system could simply verify cryptographic proofs that users generate themselves.
