MetaMask Begins Precautionary Ethereum Validator Exits

MetaMask began precautionary exits of Ethereum validators after disclosing a Sept. 30 infrastructure incident, placing 565,056 Ether (ETH) into a staking process that can take weeks to complete. An on-chain tally counted 16,965 validators as exited or waiting in Ethereum’s exit queue at 1:29 a.m. ET (05:29 UTC) on Oct. 1. The same analysis identified 0.36 ETH in diverted block tips from 18 blocks and no slashed validators in its dataset.
