Citi's New Outlook Sees Bitcoin Reaching $181,000 in 12 Months

Image: TokenPost

Citi forecasts Bitcoin (BTC) at $181,000 within 12 months and $113,000 before 2027, tying the higher scenario to rising institutional interest in the cryptocurrency market. The $181,000 projection extends beyond the $113,000 level the bank expects before 2027. Citi's earlier 12-month Bitcoin target was $113,000, alongside a $3,028 target for Ether (ETH), in Citi's earlier Bitcoin and Ether target update . Citi bases the higher Bitcoin scenario on stronger institutional interest, including from corporate treasuries, pension funds and hedge funds. The bank says Bitcoin is attracting more institutional customers amid economic uncertainty. Citi also sees Bitcoin potentially taking on a reserve-asset role alongside its use in trading if institutional demand continues.
