Bitcoin Drops Below $77,000 as Crypto Liquidations Reach $718.5 Million

Image: TokenPost

Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $77,000 Thursday, Nov. 5, reaching $76,887.04 at 10:13 a.m. ET (15:13 UTC) as crypto liquidations over the preceding 24 hours totaled $718.5 million. BTC was down 4.2% over the same period, after reaching a high of $81,003.70 during that window. Long positions accounted for $595.54 million, or 82.9% of the liquidation total, while short positions made up $122.96 million. The snapshot covered 139,869 traders. Liquidation totals track leveraged positions across assets and trading venues, so the figure covers more than Bitcoin alone. It does not isolate the number or dollar value of BTC-only liquidations. The total is not a measure of spot-market sales and does not establish what caused BTC’s decline.
