Square Tech, GOAT Network Sign MOU on Stablecoin Payments in South Korea

Square Tech Co., Ltd. and GOAT Network signed a memorandum of understanding to explore stablecoin payments for foreign visitors in South Korea, with potential applications in the U.S. Square Tech, which trades on South Korea’s KOSDAQ market under stock code 148250, is examining a service that would let travelers verify their identities with mobile passports and pay participating merchants using U.S. dollar stablecoins. The proposed payment flow is aimed at purchases in South Korean commerce. GOAT Network would provide the payment technology and network infrastructure. Under the proposal, AI agents could carry out purchases and payments after a user authorizes them and sets spending limits in advance. The arrangement remains exploratory.
