The oracle network logged 19 new integrations of its standard, spread across five of its services and seven different blockchains. Blockchains are very good at agreeing on what happens inside their own walls. They are very bad at knowing anything outside them, such as the price of an asset or the state of another chain. An oracle network fills that gap. Think of it as a trusted courier service: it brings offchain information onto the chain and carries messages between chains, so smart contracts can act on facts they could never see by themselves.
