ApeChain migrates to Chainlink CCIP for APE and USDC transfers – Details

Image: AMBCrypto

ApeChain is replacing LayerZero with Chainlink CCIP. This move comes as the layer 3 blockchain aims to strengthen its infrastructure and improve connectivity across the Yuga Labs ecosystem. The migration makes CCIP the official cross-chain standard for ApeChain, Bored Ape Yacht Club applications, and APE. Additionally, it will be migrating the ChainLink Cross-Chain Token (CCT) that is used by the CCT implementation of APE and USD Coin [USDC], among others. This is to enable programmable transfers from these tokens without having to use LayerZero's former OFT. Therefore, this may provide easier access to the decentralized application and community space across the Ethereum [ETH], Arbitrum, Base, and Polygon chains. As well, Chainlink has described CCIP as a single secure cross-chain standard.
