Aviva Investors, together with fintech giant Ripple , has deployed a tokenized share class for its flagship Sterling Liquidity Fund on the decentralized XRP Ledger (XRPL) blockchain . At stake is the manager's main asset — a heavyweight with a £22 billion ($29 billion) portfolio placed in short-term UK government bonds. Directing such a massive fund into the XRPL ecosystem opens a new chapter of institutional liquidity for the network; however, those who expected an instant migration of billions to the distributed ledger underestimated British pragmatism. The company itself invested a modest £50 million ($66 million) in the new on-chain tranche. Together with the July dollar pilot, Aviva's total digital assets in Europe barely exceeded £86 million ($116 million).
