Trump and WLFI tokens fall as Democrats take Congress, DeFi surges with Bitcoin recovery

Image: CoinTurk News

The Official Trump (TRUMP) cryptocurrency declined 7.1% to $1.47 during the US midterm elections on November 4, wiping out approximately $40 million from its market capitalization. World Liberty Financial’s WLFI token also fell about 5%, settling near $0.05 in early market activity. These declines emerged as Democrats secured control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, a result that may intensify scrutiny of former President Donald Trump’s business dealings and related digital assets. The latest downturn in TRUMP and WLFI prices diverged sharply from a wider cryptocurrency market rebound. While these politically linked tokens lost ground, the CoinDesk DeFi Select Index surged approximately 5%, led by gains in Injective (INJ) and Ethena (ENA), and Bitcoin rallied from about $75,600 to $78,300.
