Spain’s CNMV to Join Madrid Talks on Potential MiCA Changes

Image: TokenPost

Spain’s Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) will join an Oct. 29 discussion in Madrid on possible changes to the European Union’s crypto rules and who would decide them. The session at Palacio de Cibeles will feature Victor Rodríguez Quejido, the CNMV’s director general of Strategic Policy and International Affairs. Participants are expected to discuss how decisions on regulatory changes would be made and what those changes could mean for market participants across Europe. The discussion comes as the European Commission examines how the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) is working as markets and policy priorities evolve. The Commission’s review of MiCA also covers whether the rules’ scope and definitions address newer activity and market developments. Riza Dagoc reports on regulation, investing and the digital-asset business for TokenPost.
