Top Senate Democratic investigator Senator Richard Blumenthal is now demanding documentation regarding an estimated payment of $6.3 million made by Tether to the consulting firm that is part-owned by Bo Hines. He formerly served as the White House crypto policy chief. Blumenthal’s demand comes in amid a prior Wall Street Journal probe into the money trail. He is demanding that documents related to a payment be produced, which went to Nxum, the consulting firm owned by Hines, during his service on the President’s Council of Advisers on Digital Assets. He holds a third share in the firm. No criminal charge has been leveled against Hines, nor has there been any referral to the Justice Department and Office of Government Ethics.
