Florida Caregivers Face Felony Charges After Allegedly Draining $361,938 From Elderly Woman and Deceased Husband

Two Florida caregivers face felony charges after more than $361,000 was allegedly taken from an elderly assisted living resident and her late husband. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office says Reinier Reinoso, 42, and Suyeng Daniels-Lopez, 45, used a deceased resident’s credit card and drained the couple’s bank accounts to cover the charges. Detectives opened the case after A&Z Jewelers owner Imran Din flagged the pair for spending more than $40,000 and returning for another purchase without ID. The card belonged to a Sarasota man who died in March. He and his wife lived in assisted living, where Daniels-Lopez was their assigned caregiver from December of 2025 until Lopez’s June termination. Between June 2nd and August 25th, the card was used in more than 550 transactions totaling $240,272.85.
