Adding test-time training to robotics models did not produce consistent target selection guided by human demonstrations in a study submitted on October 23, 2026. The researchers tested the approach in InternVLA-A1 and Pi0.5 , finding that the training changes they examined did not clearly improve responsiveness under the tested settings. The study, by Qiangong Zhou, Jiafeng Liang, Yimin Dong, Yang He and Hongxiang Li, investigated how the models generate robot actions using human demonstrations. Its findings apply to the training scale and experimental settings tested . How the study tested test-time training in robotics The researchers integrated Test-Time Training (TTT) into the two vision-language-action models and trained them using human demonstrations paired with robot trajectories.
