Sony Soneium Coin: PlayStation and GTA 6 Crypto Twist?

Soneium, the blockchain ecosystem associated with Sony Group’s Web3 strategy, announced plans to introduce its native ecosystem coin, SONEIUM, on October 26. The initiative aims to connect entertainment intellectual property (IP), creators, developers, fans, and investors through an on-chain economy. As of today, Soneium itself already supports more than 250 applications across gaming, music, anime, film, collectibles, and fan creations. Its next phase centers on tokenized IP, which could allow creators and rights holders to develop new funding models while giving fans opportunities to support entertainment properties. The first project under the initiative is Moriusa, a character IP from Tokyo-based entertainment group Super State Holdings. Soneium also plans to work with K-pop IP company DayOneDream to tokenize concert-business royalties.
