At the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit in Santa Barbara, California, on Tuesday, Mastantuono described leaders who use those hours to show they work hardest and deserve the most. “That is such a terrible example for the people around us,” she said. “Recovery is part of the performance; it’s not secondary.” Mastantuono said better work-life balance has helped her take in what others say before responding and stay composed under pressure.
