On Oct. 15, ServiceNow introduced AI Passport, a credential for checking an AI agent’s permissions while it is running, and expanded EmployeeWorks with tools for building employee assistants and automating routine tasks. The announcements add controls over what agents can do in enterprise systems and tools workers can use to create AI assistance for everyday jobs. ServiceNow’s Super Intelligence Control Tower issues AI Passport. The credential is cryptographically signed and uses an organization’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB), governance policies and workflow approvals to define an agent’s authorized scope, including in workflows involving multiple agents. Its open specifications are designed to let other governance products, identity providers and enforcement systems issue and verify credentials. AI Passport is designed to verify an agent’s permitted actions while it works.
