Playboi Carti’s X Account Pushed a Meme Coin That Rugged Within Hours

A Pump.fun link appeared on Playboi Carti’s dormant X profile late Sunday, and a CARTI token ran to roughly $1.2 million before collapsing. Memecoin tracker Crypto Gorilla noticed that Carti’s bio had been updated and tagged @pumpfun , with no wallet linked and no contract address posted. The rapper’s last real post dated to early 2025, and the account, which shows 3.6 million followers, had been quiet since. That silence is what made the bio edit look awry, and a screenshot shared in the same thread showed a token named “carti,” deployed under a playboicarti handle, up 18,535% in its first hour with a market value near $714,600.
