NVIDIA expands Earth-2 open models with Europe-focused weather tools

NVIDIA said European researchers and companies are using its Earth-2 open models and tools to build more localized weather and environmental forecasting systems, including a new Europe-focused version of StormScope for short-term cloud prediction. The company said the work is aimed at decisions that depend on local conditions, such as energy operations, shipping, insurance and transport planning. In a post published on 22 Oct. 2026, NVIDIA said StormScope EU is a regional version of the StormScope model trained on Europe weather and climate data. According to NVIDIA, it uses EUMETSAT satellite observations to predict evolving cloud conditions across 16 Meteosat channels at 10-minute intervals.
