NVIDIA details TensorRT Global Performance Tuner build-route design

NVIDIA has outlined the design and operating model of its TensorRT Global Performance Tuner, a feature released in TensorRT 11.1 that searches across alternative build routes to improve inference performance while respecting accuracy constraints, according to a developer blog published on 2026-10-23. In the post, NVIDIA describes the tuner as an automatic, accuracy-aware and end-to-end performance optimization system that customizes compiler decisions for different models. The company says the core idea is to represent alternative scheduling strategies as explicit and searchable build routes, rather than relying on a single default compilation path. When no route is specified, TensorRT uses its default build route, in which every compiler knob remains at its default value, NVIDIA says.
