Microsoft and McDonald’s Push Back Against OKX-ICE Tokenized Stocks

Image: Bitcoin.com News

McDonald’s, Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs are pushing back against Wall Street’s latest blockchain experiment, formally objecting to having their shares traded on OKX-ICE’s proposed tokenized stock platform. The resistance comes as Andrew Cuomo champions the venture’s round-the-clock trading ambitions. Some of corporate America’s biggest names aren’t quite ready to let their shares enter the blockchain trading arena. An updated Oct. 19, 2026, public notice from OKXICE reveals formal objections from several prominent U.S.-listed companies, complicating the joint venture’s ambitions to bring traditional equities onchain. The filing identifies Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOG/GOOGL), Goldman Sachs (GS), Qualcomm (QCOM), Caterpillar (CAT), McDonald’s (MCD) and Western Digital (WDC) among the objecting issuers. Other companies previously named include Broadcom, Verizon, Unitedhealth Group, Coreweave, Rocket Lab, Cerebras Systems, Applovin, Applied Digital and Applied Optoelectronics.
