DHS Orders Federal Agencies to Remove DeepSeek Products

Image: TokenPost

The Department of Homeland Security has ordered federal agencies to remove Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd. (DeepSeek) products from their systems, barring the Chinese artificial intelligence developer from federal government contracts. The procurement exclusion bars DeepSeek from federal government contracts. Agencies also must remove DeepSeek products from their IT systems. The order cites U.S. cybersecurity law. It covers DeepSeek products already in agency systems and the company's eligibility for federal contracts. The DHS notice appeared on the Federal Register website on Oct. 19.
