Polygon Labs released Bor v2.10.3 Thursday, Oct. 15, to fix two medium-severity denial-of-service flaws in BlockSTM V2 after tests showed parallel block processing could delay imports by about 11 seconds. Bor imports blocks with a serial processor and BlockSTM V2 running in parallel, then relies on whichever finishes first; both are expected to produce the same result. The affected releases were Bor v2.10.1 and v2.10.2, where BlockSTM V2 was enabled by default. The technical findings add detail to earlier coverage of Bor’s v2.10.3 update . One flaw made the parallel processor recalculate a contract’s code hash when a transaction reread an account after code had been created or changed during that transaction.
