Ethereum developers have postponed the planned Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet, removing the October 26 activation and leaving no replacement date in place, according to an Oct. 22, 2026 update from the Ethereum blog. The update says core developers decided at ACDE #248 to delay the Hoodi fork so they could investigate interactions between EIP-8037 and mainnet smart contracts. The change removes the scheduled Amsterdam execution-layer activation and Gloas consensus-layer activation, along with the gas-limit schedule that would have increased Hoodi's gas limit to 200 million at the same epoch, the post said. The blog said the postponement rolls back configuration for a future upgrade but does not revert Hoodi's chain history.
