Bitcoin options open interest stood at $38.14 billion, down 0.93%. Calls led both open interest and trading volume, while put options featured prominently among the most-traded contracts. The Bitcoin options market maintained a call-heavy tilt across medium- and short-term positioning. However, activity among the leading contracts also showed demand for downside protection. As of Oct. 16, Bitcoin options open interest totaled $38.14 billion, down 0.93% from $38.50 billion previously. Options trading volume reached about $3.90 billion. Calls accounted for 60.15% of open interest, compared with 39.85% for puts. By trading volume, calls represented 51.56% and puts 48.44%. The clear call lead in open interest indicated that medium-term positioning was more heavily aligned with the upside. Calls also led trading volume, but the narrower margin suggested that near-term caution remained.
