Image: TokenPost

Bitcoin (BTC) trading above $80,000 placed Strategy’s reserve above its acquisition cost at an Oct. 21 valuation, while Metaplanet’s Sept. 30 reference price remained below its average cost. At Oct. 18, Strategy’s holdings totaled 848,517 BTC; its average acquisition price was $75,446 per BTC, with cumulative spending of $64.017 billion. Its reserve was valued at $69.127 billion using market data updated at 2:06 p.m. ET (18:06 UTC) on Oct. 21. The $5.110 billion difference is an unrealized gain on the coins; it does not represent net income or account for liabilities and other costs. A separate Oct. 19 update listed Strategy’s purchase of 267 BTC for $22 million, at an average $82,900 per coin. That purchase followed the Oct. 18 holdings count used in the reserve comparison.
