ZetaChain has proposed shutting down its Layer 1 blockchain on December 9 and moving its native ZETA token to Solana, alongside plans to launch a private artificial intelligence platform called ZetaLabs. ZetaChain has opened a 72-hour governance vote on moving ZETA to Solana, with voting closing November 7, 2026. If approved, the ZetaChain Layer 1 will halt around December 9, with native ZETA converted into Solana tokens at a 1:1 ratio. The proposal provides for burning approximately 55 million ZETA in undistributed validator rewards during 2027. Holders with fewer than 10 ZETA cannot use the individual claim portal, while exchange-held balances will follow exchange conversion arrangements. ZetaChain plans to launch ZetaLabs, its private AI application, on December 9 alongside the proposed migration.
