Uniswap (UNI) Labs has set out how TJAR, its onchain fee conversion system, is designed to turn mixed token balances into a chosen payout asset through market competition rather than in-house treasury operations. In a blog post published on 2026-10-30, author Alan Wu described TJAR as permissionless infrastructure that is already live, audited by OpenZeppelin, and being used by Robinhood for fees collected through the Uniswap API. According to the post, onchain systems often accumulate a mix of assets, including blue-chip tokens, long-tail tokens and dust, but ultimately want to convert them into a single token. TJAR places those assets in a Token Jar and lets searchers compete to release them by paying a fixed amount of the operator’s chosen token to a configured destination.
