Image: TokenPost

Stablecoin market capitalization fell $1.65 billion from Oct. 12-18, 2026, while decentralized exchange (DEX) spot and perpetual trading activity increased. The figures show a mixed weekly picture across crypto markets, with stablecoin capitalization down as trading volumes rose. DEX spot volume increased 5.83% week over week, and perpetual volume climbed 4.36%. Stablecoins help provide liquidity and facilitate transactions across the crypto ecosystem. Separately, four public companies added a combined 7,721 Bitcoin (BTC) during the week, valued at about $634.84 million. The additions were another market development over the same period.
