Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, has announced plans to bring Hyperliquid -based perpetual futures to the U.S. markets. This announcement coincided with a notable double-digit increase in the price of Hyperliquid’s HYPE token. ICE has entered into an agreement with Trade[XYZ] to develop U.S.-regulated perpetual markets utilizing Hyperliquid infrastructure, which will cover a range of assets including cryptocurrencies, equities, indexes, commodities, and foreign exchange. The launch is subject to regulatory approval and will incorporate KYC/AML controls. The proposal, however, does not currently establish a direct role for the HYPE token as collateral or payment. ICE’s progress in obtaining regulatory approvals will be a critical factor to monitor, as it could further impact market expectations for Hyperliquid.
