Circle has published a step-by-step guide to treasury management with USDC, framing the stablecoin as an additional settlement rail rather than a replacement for existing banking, approval and accounting systems. The Oct. 21, 2026 guide says USDC is intended to help treasury teams move value 24/7, manage cross-border routing and reduce settlement delays, while preserving controls and reconciliation processes. In the guide, Circle says USDC is most useful where conventional rails create friction through banking cutoffs, pre-funded cash requirements, settlement delays or complex cross-border routing. The company describes the token as a settlement layer that can bridge fiat rails at either end of a transaction, allowing funds to move onchain around the clock while fiat remains available through bank accounts and on- and off-ramps.
